As well as being a reading therapist, our founder and operator, Leslie Sanchez, has a Masters of Science in Education, is a certified teacher with over 15 years of classroom experience in both public and private schools, and taught Reading and Reading Assessment as a professor at Nova Southeastern University for 9 years.

As well as being a reading therapist, our founder and operator, Leslie Sanchez, has a Masters of Science in Education, is a certified teacher with over 15 years of classroom experience in both public and private schools, and taught Reading and Reading Assessment as a professor at Nova Southeastern University for 9 years.
After several years as a reading coach at the middle school level, Leslie saw a great need in the education system. Too many students were reaching upper grade levels without sufficiently developed reading skills.
These students were struggling with reading at their grade levels and, as a consequence, struggling to get their work completed in other subjects as well. Their self-esteem was suffering and their interest in school was quickly fading - if not already gone.
Leslie knew she could help these and other younger students attain the level of reading skills they needed to succeed as students and in life.
It's All About Reading was founded on the need Leslie saw and the desire she had, personally, to help students by instilling in them the reading skills they need to carry them forward toward higher education and a brighter future.

Sergio has been writing, designing, and illustrating professionally in South Florida for over 25 years. After leaving the US Army he enrolled and graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. He started his career designing and illustrating at The Discovery Center in Fort Lauderdale – the children’s museum that morphed into the Mus
Sergio has been writing, designing, and illustrating professionally in South Florida for over 25 years. After leaving the US Army he enrolled and graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. He started his career designing and illustrating at The Discovery Center in Fort Lauderdale – the children’s museum that morphed into the Museum of Discovery and Science.
Sergio then joined the Sun-Sentinel, pioneering both print and digital projects. After that he moved to Univision, where he was part of the team that launched Univision.com, serving as Creative Director, and later Vice President, Design & Usability, of digital products.
Since leaving Univision Sergio has consulted on several UXUI projects, wrote and illustrated his first children’s book, The Lonely Little Island, and continues to illustrate on personal and professional projects.
He also partners with his wife at It’s All About Reading, a reading center she founded, where they work to help students learn to read or improve their reading skills.
