In addition to being a reading therapist, our founder and operator, Leslie Sanchez, holds a Master of Science in Education, is a certified teacher with over 15 years of classroom experience in both public and private schools, and has taught Reading and Reading Assessment as a professor at Nova Southeastern University for nine years.
After several years as a reading coach at the middle school level, Leslie saw a great need in the education system. Many students were reaching upper-grade levels without sufficiently developed reading skills.
These students were struggling with reading at their grade level and, consequently, were struggling to complete their work in other subjects as well. Their self-esteem was suffering, and their interest in school was quickly fading—if not already gone.
Leslie knew she could help these and other younger students attain the level of reading skills they needed to succeed as students and in life.
It's All About Reading was founded on the need Leslie saw and her desire to help students by instilling in them the reading skills they need to move forward toward higher education and a brighter future.
